Meta data plugin manages Google site verification meta name among many features. Joomla administrators can easily paste Google Search Console site verification code within the plugin.
Configuration
- Status
- In order to make your rules work, you have to enable them.
- URL inspection: ALL
- Choose "All" from the list, as you want to verify your whole site.
- Meta name
- Select "google-site-verification" meta name from the list, then paste your verification code into the next, "Google site verification" field. You can find the verification code in your search console account, and from the content you only have to copy the code itself. Click here for details.

Google Search Console site verification is a process that proves that you are the owner of the site/property that you claim to own. This is required by Google Search Console unless you won't get SEO data from the Search Console. Once it is proven that you are the site owner, you will have access to many sensitive data which can affect how Google Search crawls the site, what problems, recomendations it has. For this reason Google wants to make sure that you are the real site owner who has access for Search Console.
01 In Search Console you should click on Add property.
02 Select property type: URL prefix
03 Add the domain
04 Verify ownership by clicking on HTML tag
05 After there will be a HTML code you can copy and paste into the head section.
